Yes i am done with all of my work my winter break is free....by the way the book was good i thought it would be boring i read it in 3days.

Personal Response

Slavery has ruined women slaves lives, causing women to lose their child. Having no man to support them just selling their children. Women wanting their rights to do things on their own. Wishing to get out a struggling situation wanting freedom. Women that were slaves was treated worse than a male who was in slavery.
Always a strong black woman that made things better for herself in a slave home. She was respectful, helpful, and had a great bond with the women masters around her. Always was friendly even if one hated her she would still speak to you in a friendly respectful manner. She never showed no attitude towards any slave master always did what she was told and what was right. This passage shows how some people are ungrateful for what god blessed them with. This passage also shows how someone who is living a rough life wants to have a life of no struggle.
J. California provides in the passage how Always wish she had the life Loretta have where she can make her on decisions and go where she wants. People in America today are ungrateful. People in America should be happy with how life is giving to them because if there was still slavery things would be much worse than it is now. Americans have not got the picture that if there was still slaver times a lot of people wouldn’t know there brother and sisters or their parents like they know them now. People do not realize today life is better than back then because if they did people would take advantage of life today.

Dear, Sun
I have been in a lot of pain since you have left. Things have got worse around. I have been sold to another slave owner. There was no way that Mistress would let plum come along with me. Plum was so hurt when I was taking off with the new slave owner she found her way to escape by jumping under the wagon. Plum was smashed by the metal under the wagon causing her to bleed to death. I hate this new slave home. I have been raped. Now pregnant with a baby coming soon. I want to get out of here. How are you doing, I hope well. Have you heard from our little sister Peach? I really want to get out of this place please come and help me.

Plums Eulogy by Clora

Plum my daughter was very young. She struggled as a young slave without a mother or a father. Many beatings occurred towards her for being black. My daughter suffered for wanting what was right. My daughter was respectful harming nothing. A young girl doing what she was set to do as a slave. My daughter why must you take her so early lord.
Always was hurt about having to bury her sister knowing that her sister could not be buried the right way. Always might be hurt to much to say anything all she can do is cry.
